Forty or fifty years on
Will you still be here or just gone?
Will they still call your name
And remember you with fame

Will you still be here or just gone?

I walked around some graveyards today
Some newly laid, bright and gay
But there were many forlorn, neglected and torn

Will you still be here or just gone?

I cashed in my ‘super’ today
Seemed no point in it drifting away
May as well spend it all
And have one final ball

Will you still be here or just gone?

I have three friends left from the past
We all ask the same “how’d we last”?
Be at least were are stoic, and don’t we all know it

Will you still be here or just gone?

The grandkids all grow and move on
I think they’re still young but 21
They will talk to me at times
But must rush with the chimes

Will you still be here or just gone?

I decided to join a mens shed
The last resting place before dead
There we chat about times
That where young and sublime

Will you still be here or just gone?

Now he’s stopped and beckons his head
He is pointing at me
Should I stay or just flee
